Market Shifts In Content Distribution

On day 2 (June 17th), the Mobile 2.0 Europe – openIDEAS Conference program will be focused on helping developers, marketing professionals, project leaders as well as any other member of the mobile ecosystem, to monetize apps. In the Business Track, Vincent Hoogsteder, co-founder of Distimo will do a session on “Market Shifts In Content Distribution

Mobile is one of the most competitive markets in the world right now. On all levels of its value chain, players are heavily competing and introducing new product innovations at a rapid pace. The field of mobile content distribution has seen dramatic changes over the last years, kicked off by the launch of the world’s first app stores. In this presentation we will go into the most relevant trends regarding content distribution & monetization in app stores. Based on our daily analysis of the major stores in the market we will go into our most
recent findings and shed light on what we feel comes next.

Distimo will also do a workshop on ”Monetization & Analytics In App Stores

In this workshop, Distimo will provide insights in the latest monetization trends across the various app stores. Based on these insights, Distimo’s free analytics tool Monitor will be demonstrated to show how developers can steer their app distribution in stores like the Apple App Store, Google Android Market, GetJar, Nokia Ovi Store,
BlackBerry App World and Windows Phone 7 Marketplace. Developers will learn what key data is important to track on a daily basis and what can be learned from closely monitoring competing applications.

About Distimo

Distimo was launched shortly after the introduction of the first app store. App stores have clearly shown since that time that they are the way forward for content distribution. The app store model offers an enormous opportunity for developers to get their content out and dramatically improves content discovery by consumers. However, the
mobile market has long been characterized by fragmentation, which is also displayed in the wide range of mobile application stores that were launched from 2009 on. Distimo was founded to solve the challenges created by a widely fragmented app store marketplace filled with equally fragmented information and statistics.
