Mobile 2.0 Definition – getting closer

Last week we did some fun contest asking our twitter followers to send us a Mobile 2.0 definition in 140 characters, not an easy one for sure. We picked out the one from blogger C. Enrique Ortiz:

Mobile 2.0 = the next generation of mobility that maximizes the user’s experience, the capabilies of the device, and the services on web

On which Daniel Appelquist commented:

A correct view to me, but the contest was about the best Mobile 2.0 definition in 140 characters. Meanwhile Enrique updated his original definition tweet with the following definition:

Are we’re coming close finally of being able to define Mobile 2.0? Let us know about your definition in our comments, it will be interesting to integrate some of those during the event. We also created a Mobile 2.0 Room on FriendFeed, feel free to join here: lots of interesting links and opinion on the topic!

Below some more Mobile 2.0 definition attempts by other followers.

Charlie Schick, Nokia added

We are happy to announce Charlie Schick, Editor-in-Chief for Nokia Conversations will join us for Mobile 2.0 Europe. Charlie will have a chat on stage with Peggy Anne Saltz and talk about Social Media as the fusion of mobile and internet, exploring the ties into the Mobile Semantic Web. How do we find, navigate, recombine, and contribute to all our media and data streams? What’s next after Lifestreams, and how do we deal with Info Noise on the internet and how does this affect our mobile internet usage?

Charlie’s career at Nokia also includes kick-starting Ovi.com, launching Nokia Lifeblog and the Series 60 Platform, and providing Internet strategy consulting throughout the company. Prior to joining Nokia, he was an editorial consultant for various online and print publications. In addition to having written numerous articles for online and print telecom publications, he has written various research papers in leading journals and co-authored a book on advanced phone systems. One of his dark secrets is that he spent 12 years in basic Molecular and Cellular Biology research, reaching the level of Research Fellow and Instructor at Children’s Hospital Boston, part of the Harvard Medical School. He has a graduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

His public personal site is at http://cognections.typepad.com/lifeblog.
